Diarrhea describes bowel movements (stool) that are loose and watery. Diarrhea is a common condition and is usually not serious. Many people will have diarrhea once or twice a year. It typically lasts two to three days and can be treated with over-the-counter medicines.

What causes Diarrhea?

Acute diarrhea is usually caused by a bacterial, viral, or parasitic infection. Chronic diarrhea is usually related to a functional disorder such as irritable bowel syndrome or an intestinal disease such as Crohn’s disease.

The most common causes of diarrhea are:

  • Bacterial Infection: Intake of some bacteria through food and water can cause diarrhea. Most common are Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, and Escherichia coli (E. coli).

  • Viral Infections: Many viruses cause diarrhea including rotavirus, norovirus, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus, and viral hepatitis. Rotavirus among these cause serious harms to body.

  • Parasites: Parasites that cause diarrhea include Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica, and Cryptosporidium.

  • Functional bowel disorders: Irritation bowel syndrome can also be a reason diarrhea.
  • Intestinal Diseases: Inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and celiac disease often lead to diarrhea.
  • Food intolerance and sensitiveness: Some people have difficulty in digesting certain ingredients, such as lactose, the sugar found in milk and milk products. Some people may have diarrhea if they eat certain types of sugar substitutes in excessive quantities. This mainly due to inadequate bile flow or liver infection.
  • Reaction to medicines: People usually take antibiotic or anta acids which are not good for their liver and stomach. These medicines harms body organs or even damage liver cells result in bowel disorders or diarrhea.

Body waste and toxins deposited or retained in organs, blood and inside free places of our body, causes all type of diseases so cleaning of body in every condition guarantees a best health.

Can diarrhea harm your health?

Ongoing diarrhea causes the body to lose large amounts of water and nutrients. If you have diarrhea more than three times a day and you are not drinking enough fluids, you could become dehydrated. Dehydration is the loss of water from body tissues, which disturbs the balance of essential substances in your body. Dehydration can cause serious complications if it is not treated. Diarrhea can be a symptom of some serious disease or disorder in body. Diarrhea occurs when something is wrong in your body. Finding actual cause of diarrhea and treating that and removing it from root is necessary.
